Care Instructions

Wool, Linen, Natural Dyes, and Cyanotypes have one thing in common- they require proper care so they last. These handmade items’ vibrancy will last longer if you follow these care instructions:

  1. Wash to a minimum. If you need to refresh your clothing, I recommend you hand it outside for a couple of hours. Let the sun and fresh air do their magic. For cyanotype and natural dye clothing hang in the shade.
  2. If you need to wash it turn your garment inside out.  Use a phosphate-free and wool-safe detergent. Avoid the use of borax, Oxyclean, washing soda, powdered detergent or soaps, baking soda, any form of washing salts, or bleach as these can alter and modify the color.
  3. Air dry or tumble alone on low heat. For cyanotype and natural dyed clothing: don’t hand it in direct sunlight.
  4. For cyanotype clothing: if your print is fading you can wash the print in a diluted bath of hydrogen peroxide, this can restore the original intensity of the print.
  5. The beauty of botanical colors is that they fade over time. Embrace it! You are participating in slow fashion and sustainable dye options, let your garment have their life and the color change over the years.
